A product passport holds what a product is made of, what it cost the planet, how to repair it and how to take it apart. This one travels inside its own code: scan it and the whole record is on your phone, with every value carrying the name of whoever stated it.

A shopper, a repairer, a recycler and a market surveillance authority are not entitled to the same passport. The law sorts them into three tiers — anyone, a party with a legitimate interest, and market surveillance together with notified bodies — and customs sits outside that sorting, checking a registration identifier at the border. So the passport is not four documents and a border form: it is one record, and a view is a filter over it. What a view holds back, it names.
